Many of us have asked the question: Why do I need to attend church? It seems that today many have chosen to not attend church. I believe the reason many don’t attend church is because they don’t realize what they’re missing. Maybe you are wondering if you should be in church this Sunday. Hebrews 10 gives a clear message concerning church attendance. While there are many reasons to attend church let me share three.
In the first place, we’re told in the bible that we are to love one another and do good works. This is called growing in Christ. If a Christian is to grow in Christ, then they must be fed. God’s word feeds those who study it. The church is a great place to study God’s word.
In the second place, we are instructed not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. The church is a place of fellowship. Sometimes we see the church only as a building but it is much more. The church is a place where we come together to fellowship with God and one another.
In the third place, the church is a place for communication. Going to church helps to get to know and communicate with God. Talking to each other helps us become friends and gives us a sense of belonging. God also desires for us to talk to Him and be His friend. The big question is do you love God enough to attend His Church?
