Glendo had its first annual Pasture Golf Tournament June 22 to raise funds for the Glendo Ambulance and Fire Department. The tournament was hosted at the Key Bar Ranch—Jim and Nan Ludvik.  Trucks, ATVs, and jeeps were all lined up waiting to get in to get signed up. There were people from everywhere, Elizabeth VanBuskirk commented, “What a nice turnout.” There were local Glendo residents, and supporters from Douglas, Cheyenne, Colorado, and other places. The winners who traveled the farthest were from Oregon and an individual from New Zealand.

Some people who participated in the event had never golfed, while others were old pros. At the end of the last hole, many came in with smiles and said, “They had a blast!” As everyone finished golfing the participants could purchase a ticket to try their hand at a hole-in-one to win a truck that Bob Ruwart Motors donated. It sounded like someone came close but no hole.

Glendo EMS and Fire served hot dogs donated by H’s Custom Meats in Wheatland. Everyone raved about the hot dogs!

There were 26 teams and over 170 people gathered as participants and volunteers. Heather Schoning reported that they raised over ten thousand dollars. The winning team was Brian and Kayla Eichold, Natalie Hennek, and Bryan Grzegorczyk. The winner of the Calcutta was Brian and Bryan and they bought themselves. I believe Jim and Nan will be finding golf balls for years and maybe a few clubs. What a great community we live in and all those gathered that helped make such an impact and support.
